Manager or Director of Community and Stakeholder Relations - FULLY REMOTE in New Mexico

We're seeking an energetic leader committed to making an impact to join our dynamic team as the Manager or Director of Community and Stakeholder Relations for the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line and the New Mexico 988 Behavioral Health Crisis Hub. This pivotal role will build on NMCAL’s decade of impact as one of the first truly statewide crisis lines in the country, and the first to include a Peer-to-Peer Warmline operating right alongside the Crisis Line. We’re looking for a dynamic, innovative, and deeply passionate contributor to the greater good to help continue our history of expanding impact at every opportunity, while staying at the forefront of strategic initiatives that improve mental and behavioral health services across the state.

In the position of Community and Stakeholder Relations, you will:

  • Proactively engage with New Mexicans at various community meetings, conferences and other avenues to understand the needs of the community
  • Seek out new opportunities for NMCAL to help further improve and expand behavioral health access for all New Mexicans.
  • Strategize and lead impactful community engagement and media relations efforts.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders from local, State, Federal governments and non-profit organizations, and creating alliances that foster community resilience.
  • Key contributor to community needs assessment, strategy development, innovative service design, and measurable outcomes for our New Mexico communities.

NMCAL: A Pillar of Support in New Mexico:

Since its inception over a decade ago, the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line (NMCAL) has been a vital resource for New Mexicans, offering round-the-clock support. Through its history, NMCAL has expanded to include services like the Peer-to-Peer Warm Line, the innovative NMConnect app, and integrating the national 988 crisis hotline. Today, New Mexico is emerging as a leader in the Nation’s implementation of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

  • You live in New Mexico and have knowledge and experience working within New Mexico’s Behavioral Healthcare systems and serving diverse populations.
  • Experienced in managing complex programs and navigating diverse stakeholder landscapes including government relations.
  • At ease with speaking in public forums, conferences, government committees, etc…
  • Equity-focused and ready to promote services that make a lasting difference in the lives of all New Mexicans.
  • An advanced degree in behavioral health or social work is preferred
