Founded in 1890, Glen-Gery Corporation is one of the nation’s largest brick manufacturers and operates eight brick manufacturing facilities. Glen-Gery products are sold nationally through a network of over 500 distributors as well as in Canada. Since entering the USA in 2018, Brickworks have acquired Sioux City Brick, Redland Brick and the distribution business of Southfield Corporation in Illinois and Indiana (Illinois Brick, Indiana Brick). The combined North American business now has more than 900 employees, operates across 40 locations, including 8 brick plants, 26 masonry supply/retail locations and 3 design studios.

Basic Function: Reporting to the Brickworks North America Vice President of Sales, the Key Account Manager role will have primary responsibility for fostering strong relationship, promoting new products and acting as a liaison for the business with our national accounts and partners. The Key Accounts Manager will collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, Architectural Sales Managers and Supply Center Managers.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Create and monitor sales initiatives to align with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor, review, and report on sales performance and develop plans to improve market share monthly.
  • Taking a leading role in lunch and learn presentations, proposals, and estimates.
  • Build a trusting and professional relationship with existing key account customers.
  • Participate in professional industry organizations (BIA, CSI, AIA, etc.) including promotional events, seminars, and presentations.
  • Maintaining exceptional level of expertise on products/service.
  • Responding to client concerns and applies independent decision making while striving for first-time resolution on all client problems/issues.
  • Ensuring quotes and orders are accurate following company sales procedure. Assist in developing national deals.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings with team to stay informed, educated and motivate.
  • Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans for national accounts and production builders by implementing national sales and marketing strategies, analyzing trends and results.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure alignment with strategic objectives; with identified critical paths and process rigor.
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Prepare short-term and long-term product sales forecasts, reports, and analyses.
  • Develop relationships and create goals on growth initiatives with our manufacturing partners.
  • Ability to navigate online platform such as Dodge to generate business
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred


Experience

  • Business experience of 15+ years in sales and leadership positions
  • 10 + years of experience in related discipline within building materials and/or consumer durables industry
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software (JDE, Salesforce)
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relations skills.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects on-time and within budget
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and changing priorities while providing the highest service quality
  • Highly organized individual, exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong financial analytical skills with ability to formulate a business plan
  • Experience in developing budgets, business plans required
  • Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Ability to travel 75% to meet with potential and existing partners or national accounts
