The Manager of Corporate Communications is responsible for leading internal and external efforts across the company. This position will help build, launch, and lead cultural initiatives that promote diversity & inclusion in channels of the business. Owns the relationship with external public relations (PR) firm and ensures the PR strategy is delivered through messaging and other means of communication. Works closely with Social Media, Customer Care, and Marketing teams to build JOANN brand externally. Responsible for charitable giving program and national corporate partnerships. Support Director of Corporate Communications in executive and crisis communications.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Oversee external communications, and build the JOANN brand as a responsible, inclusive place to work and shop. Lead day-to-day relationship with PR agency. Serve as point of contact with agency, provide direction and ensure the agreed upon outcomes and results are delivered.
Lead internal communications strategy and execution of events, including business updates, culture events and executive communications
Oversee internal and external Diversity & Inclusion initiatives including Grant program, volunteer opportunities, committee meetings and company education
Oversee charitable giving and national corporate partnerships including St. Jude, Susan G Komen, Kids Mental Health Foundation, 4-H and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to travel up to 20% of time

Education & Experience
Education Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Journalism
Experience Minimum: 7+ years relevant experience knowledge, skills and abilities Proven track record in corporate communications. Demonstrated ability to manage internal client relationships, including executive level, in mid- to large-size
Experience Preferred: Experience as on-air talent, managing a budget and building strategy preferred. Experience building or contributing to D&I strategy or initiatives preferred.
