Manager, Content and Brand Development

Job Summary

This role exists to drive the profitability and promotional return of CCMG Publishing’s content creation, audience development and brand development via Worship Together and other consumer facing proprietary platforms.

Job Functions

  • Provide creative direction across the publishing division and oversee the creation and timely delivery of all visual assets including video assets, graphic and printed designs, overall Worship Together branding and other creative for key marketing campaigns.
  • With an editorial mindset, develop digital marketing plans, audience development strategies, video content and supplementary resources that are aligned with CCMG and divisional strategic goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with Worship Together team to develop viral marketing strategies that leverage algorithmic SEO (search engine optimization) across social platforms, websites, and classic search engines.
  • Oversee production, programming, and content development for Worship Together events.
  • Support label video and creative teams while effectively balancing Church Resources priorities.
  • Work collaboratively to innovate and manage the development of new ideas and content that re-enforce our position as the market leader in the worship and church resources community.
  • Provide cohesive and inspirational leadership to Church Resources video/design staff that creates movement and momentum in the business.
  • Oversee production (audio/video/lighting) and provide creative direction for video shoots and company-owned live events.
  • Develop employee(s) using the Performance Assessment Process and Performance Improvement Guidelines, providing on-going coaching/feedback and recognition to encourage outstanding performance.
  • Consistently monitor worship music and church trends as they relate to songs/artists/writers. Regularly assess content, processes, product mix and platforms to ensure that we are resourcing the church with the most relevant worship songs and products - in the right way.
  • Track competitor strategies with respect to modern worship song promotion and print resources - adjusting our marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Manage budget lines effectively and efficiently to ensure company assets are utilized in accordance with Capitol CMG policy and budget.
  • Provide on-going support to Senior Director, Marketing by supporting priorities, major initiatives, and all requests to connect songs & consumers.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills/Abilities

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lead and develop people
  • Ability to think creatively, conceptually and strategically
  • Familiarity with music publishing and church music
  • Ability to maintain a good balance between strategic perspective, fiscal responsibility, creativity, interpersonal relationships and operational understanding
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong relational skills
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Working knowledge of web development tools and platforms (HTML/CSS/Javascript/etc.)
  • Working knowledge of AVL (audio/video/lighting) for large-scale live events

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience leading a team preferred
  • Experience working or volunteering in church music a plus

Education

  • 4-year college degree in Marketing, Communications, or Music Business preferred

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit
  • Requires motor skills to operate a keyboard and basic office equipment
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk
  • Ability to communicate over the phone and in person
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50lbs
  • Requires occasional travel
