Duties

Joining the Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, will allow you to serve as an analyst and/or advisor to management on a range of complex program activities requiring application qualitative and quantitative methods for assessment of complex management processes, systems and mission support programs. This position starts at a salary of $99,200.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354 (GS-13 Step 10). Major Duties: Assessing and evaluating trade policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the automated import/export system capabilities and providing advice and recommendations to managers. Supporting the implementation of updates or enhancements to the automated import/export system focusing on downstream cargo processing that result from and support long and short-term objectives established by the organization, statutes, executive orders, or executive management. Developing and evaluating training materials for the automated import/export system and making recommendations based on organizational objectives and program improvements. Identifying and recommending solutions to streamline processes with supporting metrics for justification, and providing analytical support on system issues. Participating in working groups concerning the automated import/export system in which external trade community participants and/or other Federal Government agencies are involved; planning, organizing and researching work related to the automated import/export system development projects or enhancements, and negotiating with leadership to accept and implement recommendations.
