Oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep of operations for the food manufacturing equipment and company facilities. You will ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties timely and within budget. Additionally, maintain relationships with Supervisors, employees, contractors and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
Essential Functions:
Familiar with various equipment used in Food processing (Welding is a plus
Preventive maintenance on all machinery to ensure that it is always working properly.
Creating and implementing maintenance procedures.
Repairs machines during production emergencies and down times, safely and as quickly as possible.
Assigning repair schedules and evaluating repair cost estimates
Overseeing equipment stock and will work with the Purchasing department on placing orders for any supplies.
Identify deficiencies in existing mechanical processes and propose improvements.
Physical Demands:
Frequent bending, twisting and lifting.
Occasional kneeling.
Ability to lift unassisted 30 - 50 lbs at a time.
Working standing for long periods of time.
Ability to move in very narrow spaces.
Working in a warm environment with flour dust.
Working in a loud production environment.
Occasionally working extended shifts.
Skills And Experience
Required:
Bilingual required
5 years’ experience as a Mechanic in Food Manufacturing or Bakery Plants is a plus.
Engineering background is not necessary but very helpful.
General knowledge of plumbing, welding, electricity, gas lines and motors.
Basic knowledge of flour and corn tortilla production equipment and operations is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
Able to concentrate and work well under pressure.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience as a maintenance manager or in another managerial role.
Ability to follow and implement safety guidelines.
Well organized.
