Logistics Specialist - Remote | WFH

Key Responsibilities

Track & Trace: Keep an eye on all inbound container shipments, ensuring everything is on schedule.

Weekly Reporting: Generate and share reports on incoming containers for internal warehouses and customer locations.

Recordkeeping: Maintain meticulous records for all inbound shipments, including customs documentation and receiving checklists.

OS&D Management: Record and report occurrences for all in-scope shipments.

Tariff Classification: Perform tariff classification for new items to be imported.

Freight Invoice Audits: Audit freight invoices to ensure accurate charges and track any variances from quoted rates.

Carrier Management: Oversee daily execution of all movements with carrier partners, review their performance, and suggest supply chain improvements.

Pace Monitoring: Monitor offloading pace at warehouses and customer locations, prioritizing shipments as needed.

Performance Documentation: Document carrier performance to support departmental KPI tracking.

Service Partnerships: Develop and nurture partnerships with service providers to drive cost savings and efficiencies.

QBR Participation: Participate in quarterly business reviews with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.

Support RFQ/RFP Processes: Assist in requests for quotations/proposals for freight services.

Disruption Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions, executing recovery plans when necessary.

Cost Savings Projects: Manage cost savings projects related to your scope of work.

Stay Informed: Stay updated on industry news and best practices relevant to our business environment.

Team Collaboration: Uphold our mission and values, demonstrating supportive behaviors in your day-to-day actions.

Other Duties: Take on additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Transportation/Logistics, Operations, or equivalent.

Experience: At least five years in logistics, with a minimum of two years focused on international transportation.

Customs Knowledge: Understanding of US and Canadian Customs processes and regulations.

Transportation Expertise: Strong knowledge of ocean transportation, drayage, full truckload, and rail intermodal.

Technical Skills: Experience with ERP, WMS, and TMS is preferred. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is required.

Team Player: Ability to work well in a matrixed team environment.

Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Process Improvement: Interest in lean/process improvement tools and advancing applied knowledge in this area.

Legal Work Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This position does not offer relocation or visa sponsorship.

Location: Must live within commuting distance to Dayton, TN.

International Experience: Strong preference for candidates with extensive international (ocean freight) experience.
