Vanguard International USA is a vertically integrated grower, packer, and shipper of premium produce. Founded in 1991, Vanguard International has greatly expanded since its early days as a US-based produce sales and procurement organization. The company now includes offerings from its owned production in Peru, as well as having operational and representative offices in nearly a dozen countries across the globe. Our mission is to focus on the right fruit to the right customer, flawlessly performed. We are seeking a Logistics & Operations Coordinator for our international headquarters in Issaquah, Washington.


Overview of Position


This position will be actively involved in supporting the Vanguard International USA Sales and Operations team. It requires a dynamic, flexible, and detail-oriented team player that can add value to the company across a wide range of activities and responsibilities all along the fresh produce supply chain.


Job Specifications


  • Update internal platform with current prices and sales related information. This will include consolidating photos and managing data.
  • Generate orders with complete and accurate content to ensure efficient supply chain management from our suppliers to our end customers around the world.
  • Proactively identify discrepancies and variances with supplier paperwork.
  • Communicate with trucking providers to ensure the maintenance of competitive pricing and timely loading/unloading processes.
  • Monitor and update ocean freight rates provided by carrier partners.
  • Process and finalize post-shipment paperwork.
  • Assist with supplier and customer communication and quoting as directed.
  • Prepare/Review documentation packages to ensure accuracy before submitting to customers.
  • Vessel schedule statuses and alerts for our sales team to communicate the most precise schedule information to our customers.
  • Prepare various daily reports for internal distribution.
  • Perform other general administrative functions to achieve the highest level of customer service.
  • Assist in claim processing, following up with salespeople and customers to ensure we have all documentation needed to meet claim reporting requirements.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operates with integrity and is respectful.
  • Must be highly detailed and results oriented.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Mandarin is a plus.
  • PC proficiency in MS Office of tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • We work with suppliers, customers, and coworkers in different global time zones. Therefore, occasional after-hours availability is required.


Experience and Education

  • Previous experience in the produce industry is desirable, but not required.
  • A college degree is desirable, but not required.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour


Expected hours: 40 per week
