The Librarian is directly supervised by the School Principal and is responsible for planning, adapting, and/or providing instruction to students in order to enable them to effectively and efficiently access text and electronic resources.

Essential Functions
Analyze requests of staff and students to determine needed information and assist in furnishing or locating information.
Teach library patrons to search for information using databases.
Keep records of circulation and materials in Destiny database.
Explain use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services, and provide information about library policies to stakeholders.
Code, classify, and catalog books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems.
Develop information access aids such as indexes and annotated bibliographies, web pages, electronic pathfinders, and on-line tutorials.
Plan and deliver client-centered programs and services, storytelling for children, newsletters, or programs.
Organize collections of books, publications, documents, audiovisual aids, and other reference materials for convenient access.
Collaborate with teachers across contents to co-teach lessons and/or provide resources to enhance student learning.
Provides a safe environment for students.
Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with building and district staff.
Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of the department's or school's goals and objectives and the District's mission and Superintendent's Priority Goals

DETERMINE CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE OR INSERT REQUIREMENTS
Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Certification in Library Science
