The Lead Healthcare Auditor or Partner will manage client relationships within the Assurance Services department, focusing on auditing hospitals, academic medical centers, and other healthcare entities. This role involves leading the practice, providing high-quality client service, and developing team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Sign off on hospital audits and revenue recognition
Lead the practice and act as the primary client contact for healthcare engagements
Provide timely, high-quality client service
Manage healthcare engagements profitably
Review engagement documentation and work papers
Supervise client/engagement procedures
Serve as a mentor, advisor, and Career Development Coordinator (CDC)
Provide performance feedback to team members
Demonstrate technical competence in healthcare client specialties
Research and resolve technical issues
Understand clients' businesses, recognize performance drivers, and recommend improvements
Generate and retain business, and encourage clients to use all firm services
Participate in client pursuits and develop proposal content
Requirements:
Education & Certification: CPA required; will consider candidates who have passed the exam but are not yet licensed
Experience:
7+ years audit experience
Substantial experience auditing hospitals or healthcare providers
Knowledge of auditing contractual allowances, revenue recognition, complex accounting estimates, and technical matters for healthcare providers
Superior general accounting and auditing skills
Understanding of healthcare industry economic and regulatory risks
Ability to research and document technical issues
Public Accounting Experience:
Public accounting experience required
Minimum of Senior Manager level if direct from public accounting
Healthcare audit experience necessary
Mix of public/industry experience acceptable if currently auditing healthcare
