The Law Clerk will support our legal team in addressing a variety of legal issues. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be ready to handle diverse challenges, focusing primarily on regulatory compliance, litigation, and commercial matters. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate legal analysis and effective management of legal processes to support the company's operations and growth.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development, drafting and implementation of policies and procedures.
Maintain, update, and revise employment agreement templates.
Conduct global compliance audits.
Assist with leave of absence and workplace accommodation requests.
Conduct legal research, draft demand letters, and negotiate settlements on behalf of the Company.
Assist in-house attorneys with legal matters in a variety of areas including commercial and technology transactions, intellectual property, corporate governance, strategic alliances, privacy, cybersecurity, litigation and dispute resolution, and employment law.
Assist with contract processing (generate contracts from templates, review and respond to requested edits, and prepare documents for signature).
Interpret and summarize terms and conditions of existing contracts.
Assist in-house attorneys in advising internal teams on legal issues.
Conduct legal research, analyze business impact and legal risk, and prepare memoranda.
Performs other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, pre-law, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal environment, preferably with exposure to regulatory compliance, litigation, or commercial matters within the medical device or healthcare industry.
Working knowledge of employment law and/or strong desire to pursue a career in employment law.
Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with legal databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
Outstanding organizational skills with ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, high-output, team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated strategic focus, critical thinking, and a problem-solving approach to support business needs effectively.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to summarize and present key takeaways for management.
Excellent analytical ability and legal drafting skills.
Strong collaborator with ability to build internal and external relationships, and to collaborate regularly with cross-functional networks.
Ability to research and learn new concepts and legal issues quickly.
Excellent written and oral communications skills that can be adapted to communicate complex legal concepts to a large audience with varying or no backgrounds in law.
Eager to learn and have a strong desire to grow and expand knowledge in the in-house legal world.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-paced environment, and balance competing priorities and timelines.
