Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid, three days per week in the office in uptown Charlotte)

Job Structure: 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension of full-time conversion

First Year Salary: $65,000+ ($32/hourly+)

Brooksource is seeking a Junior Security Analyst to join our enterprise banking partner's information security department in Charlotte, NC. This position is ideal for recent graduates from universities/boot-camps with a cyber interest, veterans, or individuals with up to one year of professional experience. The role involves a hybrid work schedule with three days per week in the office in uptown Charlotte.


As a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst, you will support the Security Posture Management – Data Security (SPM-DS) team. SPM-DS is responsible for managing the design, analysis and implementation of detection and configuration in our banking partner’s cyber security solutions. This individual will either be supporting the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) or Email Security teams.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support in operations of DLP and Email Security
  • Understand the scope, application, and operation of the solution and how it protects our banking partner’s environment and customers
  • Understanding and applying the system configuration and detection rules/policies that are required to enforce our banking partner’s information protection and risk management policies/standards and overall industry best practices
  • Analyze system performance and advance the posture of security solutions through continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with partner teams as a needed to achieve the teams’ goals


Must Have Skills

  • Recent graduate of a Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security or related field from a university, community college and/or boot-camp OR military veteran
  • Strong understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts
  • Understanding or experience with agile methodologies
  • Broad understanding of the role various cyber security solutions
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies quickly and independently


Nice to Have Skills

  • Cybersecurity, IT support, or related experience (internship or professional experience between six months to a year)
  • Cloud Security (AWS)

Environment

  • Regular working hours: 8-5 Monday-Friday
  1. There will be a rotational on-call schedule once this individual is accumulated into the environment. This individual will need to be ok with the on-call schedule that may result in work after hours or on the weekend.
  • Dress code: Business casual
  • Location: Uptown Charlotte, NC – Hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days remote per week
