JUNIOR INSPECTOR (CIVIL)
The ideal candidate as a junior inspector will be extremely observant and attentive to detail. The prime responsibilities of a Junior Inspector (Civil) include ensuring compliance with all contract documents, enforcing regulations that pertain to the construction, observing work in progress to assure conformance with requirements, and acceptable workmanship. Construction inspections may include foundations, concrete, steel, masonry, wood construction, framing, plastering and a large variety of other complex transportation and building construction activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures contractors compliance with Contract Documents
Create and maintain accurate detailed project records to ensure that all projects are executed in accordance with the contract, design, budget, and schedule
Report to the Senior Inspector on the status of the project, including any issues that occurred
Construction oversight to monitor contractor’s progress, workmanship and general conformance with the contract documents
Reviews design, safety, quality plans and all construction phase submittals associated with the Project
Develops daily, weekly, monthly reports to the Senior Inspector on the status of the project, including any issues that occurred
Works with Senior Inspector to review requests for change from the field
Conforms to Safety Site Specific Work Plan (SSSWP) to ensure safety of the job
Communicates and implements safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the corporation’s safety vision and goals
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School + 3 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must pass background check for airport badging. Must pass drug and alcohol screening
A valid Class C driver’s license and the ability to maintain eligibility under the Authority’s Authorized Drivers Program
Night and weekend work will be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree in engineering, construction management or related field
Certifications by the International Code Council (ICC/ICBO), e.g. Building Inspector, Plumbing Code, Electrical Code, Mechanical Code, Plans Review
Practitioner experience with construction and construction management
Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars
Knowledge of airside and landside design, planning aspects and facilities
Knowledge and experience in airport operations and construction is preferred
Experience with preplacement (forms, embeds and reinforcement), concrete placement
Experience with airfield pavement
