IT Project Manager

Job Description

The Project Manager manages a portfolio of projects and tasks with the goal of delivering them in a way that meets stakeholders’ requirements, on time and within budget. The Project Manager must collaborate with the development teams, Product managers and Business stakeholders. This position will work with an external vendor and internal devs on Globe.com mobile app enhancements and as a floater to manage projects that do not fit neatly into the core teams,

Responsibilities

• Working with product, tech leads developers and stakeholders to define business, technical, and editorial requirements, timelines and deliverables
• Identifying, assembling and overseeing project team members
• Developing project plans, schedules and a clear outline of responsibilities
• Working with Finance to manage project budget
• Working with internal teams and vendors to ensure resource availability
• Managing communication of progress to stakeholders
• Removing project obstacles
• Working with operational managers to ensure that sufficient support documentation and training are created and distributed.
• Delivering project deliverables on time and within budget
  
  

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience as a Project Manager working with IT teams
• Highly organized
• Proven track record of excellent project development skills
• Knowledge of Project Management tools, such as Monday.com
• Excellent consultative, listening, communications and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with multiple departments and interact, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels of management and staff
• Comfortable holding team members accountable to deadlines.
• Experienced in Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
• Ability to learn and understand systems at a high level
• Experience with mobile apps and the media industry, a plus
  
  

The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.
