IT Intern focus in Application Development Position Summary: Community Care Plan (CCP) is proud to offer an internship program that will prepare students for the workforce. This is a great internship opportunity to get professional hands-on experience in working with Information Systems (IS) staff on various health care data and technology related IS and IT projects. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, striving for excellence and looking for real world experiences. This position is approximately 30 hours per week, depending upon the selected candidate's availability. The first two days of the internship involve on-site training in organizational principles, human resources, compliance, departmental functions, computer systems & business processes. The intern will work with confidential and proprietary information that requires a signed Confidentiality Agreement upon hire. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn and abide by all compliance requirements for the Agency Health Care Administration, Department of Insurance, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as these apply to the IS and IT department activities.
  • Assist IS, IT and IT Administrative staff with projects as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with IS, IT and IT Administrative staff to effectively learn critical skills and behaviors necessary to work in a high-performing corporate environment.
  • Assist in the update and maintenance of information (data) in various online systems.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of reports and extracts from various online systems.
  • Attend weekly IS, IT team meeting and update progress tracking on priority items.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as.
  • Update and enhancement EDI documentation
  • Audit Log Analysis: Review and make recommended changes.

  • To be developed during the internship Work Schedule: As a continued effort to provide a safe and productive work environment, Community Care Plan is currently following a hybrid work schedule. Staff are able to work from home 3 days a week and will report to the office 2 days a week.

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Information Technology or Information Systems fields.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
