About The Role

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Director of Technology to oversee and lead our organization's IT operations. It is critical that the candidate has excellent engineering and development expertise and is proficient in Python, SQL, Google Analytics, HTML and other programming languages. The candidate must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. The candidate must have demonstratable experience utilizing and leveraging offshore development resources and experience with implementing artificial intelligence (A.I.) solutions to enhance productivity. The candidate must have proven multivariate testing experience in driving higher conversion rates and AOV and have implemented successful CRO strategies. This pivotal role encompasses IT administration and leadership, desktop support, security, IT infrastructure, ERP systems, 3rd-party applications, ecommerce platform, database administration, business intelligence, project management and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop policies and strategies to accommodate anticipated growth and changes in technology. Develop innovative technological solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain, oversee, and continue to develop our ERP solution, consisting of:
    • io backend and Kalio Commerce Ecommerce and POS platform
    • Integrated 3rd-party apps such as Kustomer, Emarsys, Global-E, Yotpo, etc.
    • Internally developed Access apps for item master, PO follow-up, pricing, etc.
  • Lead web operations and manage the Kalio Commerce relationship while partnering with the head of marketing to optimize conversion and AOV.
  • Develop and execute solutions to migrate Access apps to a more modern platform and interface.
  • Oversee desktop support, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and ransomware strategies.
  • Manage and maintain hardware, servers, and scanners, as well as company database to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Plan and manage IT projects from inception to completion, effectively documenting processes, and business requirements along the way. This includes being a source of project management excellence for the organization.
  • Lead the IT team members (on-site, remote, and offshore) to meet organizational goals and internal SLAs.
  • Develop reports and provide business analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Manage contracts, budgets, and expenses related to IT vendors, projects, and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in a similar role with a track record of successful IT management, with a majority of experience in ecommerce, working with ERP, OMS, POS, WMS, and ecommerce platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong development experience and the ability and temperament to “roll up their sleeves” and do the work themselves, when necessary
  • Track record of leveraging offshore IT resources and development talent while lowering overall labor cost
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Experience with ERP systems and related 3rd-party applications, database administration, and business intelligence tools.
  • Proven experience implementing artificial intelligence solutions to enhance productivity. (i.e., ChatGPT, etc.)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with MS Access (existing reporting tool) a plus
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Equestrian experience is a plus, but not required
