Interim Credit Union Controller

Charles River CFO seeks an Interim Controller for a Credit Union client. Potential for Remote or Hybrid and approximately 24 hours/week for a 3-4 month engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the accounting department to maximize efficiency and productivity, including: making routine employment decisions, reviewing performance, assigning work, providing training, and coaching subordinates.
• Maintain a strong internal control structure
• Responsible for month-end close process
• Prepare quarterly allowance for loan loss calculation and analysis and account for the Credit Union’s impaired loans and foreclosed real estate.
• Prepare annual budget, produce monthly budget variance reports, and monitor operating results against budget.
• Review quarterly NCUA call report ensuring accuracy, timely submission, and conformity with regulatory guidance.
• Provide support, perform certain duties and act as a backup to the CFO in his/her absence.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)
• Credit Union experience a must
• 7+ years of accounting experience with 3 years+ of supervisory/controller experience within a credit union
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a team
• Ability to work hybrid on-site as needed.
