Interim Controller – On-Site

ETONIEN is sourcing for an Interim Controller Consultant to support a private equity backed, niche leader in the defense and aerospace manufacturing and distribution firm based in the Philadelphia area.

The ideal candidate will be a CPA and possess 10 or more years of relevant and progressive experience in a middle market private equity environment. He or she will be self-directed and very hands-on with strong experience with cost accounting in a fast-paced manufacturing enforcement with a focus on enhancing in-office culture and team dynamics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive assessment of existing financial systems and processes, identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement
• Develop and implement strategic workplans to streamline financial reporting, aiming for a shortened close schedule
• Address issues related to reporting iterations and ensure clarity in initial reporting phases post-integration of new systems
• Improve, standardize and ensure accuracy of all cost and inventory accounting activities including analyzing, reconciling, controlling physical inventory, with a focus on accurate variance tracking and capitalization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing cost standards are effectively managed and improved
• Lead efforts to enhance monthly reporting reliability, providing actionable insights to senior management
• Plays an active role in building and motivating team members through developing and mentoring with a focus on enhancing in-office culture and team dynamics
• Additional ad hoc projects as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 4-year degree in accounting or finance required; CPA highly desirable
• 10+ years of progressive relevant experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment preferably in Defense or Aerospace sector
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and stabilize a finance team amidst organizational changes
• Must have strong cost accounting expertise
• Must have Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
• Multi-location or global experience preferred
• Must have M&A and post-acquisition integration/clean-up experience within a restructuring or private-equity backed environment
• On-site presence required; local candidates preferred, East Coast location advantageous.
• Immediate availability preferred

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions. Exact compensation may vary based on factors including skills, experience, certification, license and location. A reasonable estimate of current total compensation range including potential discretionary incentives is $5000 to $7000 USD per week.
