The Spirit of the Position:


The IT System Specialist's primary focus is in the areas of computer operations and repair of revenue-controlled equipment. This Includes IT infrastructure and preventative maintenance of all parking garage equipment, camera system (ACC7), electronic door systems (RS2/Access Control). This role requires minimum supervision and may act as lead when the need arises.


This position is on-site in the Lincoln, NE regional office.


Principal Job Duties:


  • Support duties that ensure smooth delivery of technology services such as monitoring, operating, coordinating and assisting others in the operation of computer hardware and software to achieve desired results.
  • Utilize computer software and diagnostic tools to perform a broad range of customer assistance, production job processing, equipment maintenance, repairing and computer operations assignments.
  • Reporting to technical engineer on status of all projects and technical issues.
  • Exercise judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly.
  • Perform 24/7 on-call duties; may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends or holidays.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.


Skills & Experience:


  • Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, including Microsoft platforms.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Extensive equipment support experience with PC’s.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Computer Interface / Coding skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.


Education:


  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or two years equivalent work experience.


Physical Demands:


  • Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other components.
  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
  • Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
