In the role of an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Being the change agent for overall organizational evolution and progression on its lean journey
  • Process and Value Stream Mapping
  • Leadership of Kaizen activities and events
  • Monitoring, collecting, and analyzing process performance data
  • Analyzing flow of materials, inventory and work throughout the plant
  • Design of work cell and facility layout and flow
  • Ergonomic assessments
  • Corrective and Preventative action leadership (CAPA) including root cause analysis and action plans
  • Capacity analysis and planning
  • Driving waste elimination throughout the organization including reduction in inventory levels, excess movement of personnel/materials, defects/scrap, processing steps/time
  • Training technical and non-technical personnel

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proficient with Lean / 6 sigma methodologies and tools (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 6S, Poka Yoke, DMAIC process, design of experiments, statistical analysis, etc.)
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Solid team leadership skills
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment across departments including quality, finance, supply chain, scheduling, customer service, and various engineering teamsMust be self-directed, dependable, and motivated with excellent relationship and time management skills
  • Decision making and problem solving abilities– Root cause analysis, A3, etc..
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 6 Sigma green belt or black belt
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis tools/software (i.e. Minitab, etc.)
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems
  • Previous leadership and people development experience.
  • Experience within the medical device industry.
  • Previous experience implementing lean manufacturing concepts.

ADA Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to work for extended periods sitting and looking at computer while completing repetitive motions to include substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; reviewing detailed information; viewing a computer terminal; and expansive reading
  • The ability to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines
  • Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, and Hearing
