Job Description

The HVAC Commercial Territory Sales Manager is responsible for the successful management of Commercial & Mechanical contractors in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut markets. This role is responsible for increasing sales and maintaining gross margin profitability to align with company goals.

This position will serve RAD customers in the Northeast Region of the U.S., from a home-based office located in the region. Our ideal candidate is based on Long Island, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales territory to meet and exceed profitability goals as defined by the strategic plan, coordinate, communicate, implement, and collaborate on marketing plans for overall commercial product lines.
  • Meet with customers to sell products and services, establish long-term relationships, and have a solutions-based mindset.
  • Identify market gaps and initiate a strategy to increase the customer base.
  • Collaborate with the commercial quoting team when needed.
  • Function as a partner with the Territory Managers to target accounts including pricing and joint sales calls.
  • Coordinate with Sales Manager to communicate the value of our offerings to our customer base.
  • Identify needed training and assist with coordination for internal team and customers.
  • Develop and enhance a relationship with key suppliers that will provide mutual value.
  • Assist with setting pricing and margins for commercial product lines.
  • Coordination and management of commercial projects through the inception, life cycle, and closeout of said projects.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files relating to customer contact, details, and promotional activities.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people and manage demanding situations positively and professionally.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC and water heater project management or estimating experience required.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and water heaters
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management and/or sales preferred.
  • Ability to build successful working relationships with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Proven successful sales history and background.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint and construction drawings.
  • Experience working with Prophet 21 (P21), or ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills, plus attention to detail.
  • Ability to recognize and meet deadlines with each project.
  • Must be able to use independent judgment to respond appropriately to customer needs.
  • Ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to represent the company professionally.

  • Ability to collaborate and work independently.
  • Travel required approx. 60-75%
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to complete and pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening required.

Pay scale for this role based in New York City, New York is: $83,900 - $134,000. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
