We're looking for an HR Business Partner (based in San Francisco) capable of earning the trust of our leaders and their teams. You will provide guidance and support employee relations concerns, while supporting Ample's overall People & Culture strategy. The right person understands the core values of our culture, has experience solving people and employment-related issues and can pivot quickly.



What You'll Do:

  • Administer employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, other fringe benefits and stock option agreements
  • Own the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientations, collecting required documentation and coordinating with various departments
  • Own the offboarding process for departing employees, including conducting exit interviews, processing termination paperwork and ensuring a smooth transition
  • Manage leave of absence requests and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations
  • Conduct annual agency auditing and reporting, such as 401(k), EEOC, California pay data, and health plans
  • Manage immigration related activities for employees, as well as, manage the relationship with Ample's immigration attorney
  • Maintain internal employee Intranet (People Portal)
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits & other HR related matters
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases
  • Conduct / Maintain Motor Vehicle Reports for designated employees
  • Assist in HR projects and initiatives, as needed

What You'll Bring:

  • Min. 6+ years of experience in employee relations, benefits administration, govt. agency reporting (e.g. 401k, EEOC etc.) and on/off-boarding and min. 8+ years of total HR, compliance or employment law experience
  • 1-2+ years working with immigration related issues, policies and USCIS filings
  • Experience with employee development / training and learning management systems (e.g. Life Labs, HSI)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or related field, preferred
  • Demonstrated success working in a multicultural company environment
  • Solid knowledge of Labor Law / employment regulations for California and US
  • Familiarity with benefits administration including health insurance, retirement plans and leave management
  • Passion for" people first" culture combined with flexibility and creative problem solving skills
  • Sense of urgency and excellent prioritization and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience using / managing Airtable data
  • Familiarity with Sequoia One PEO platform
  • Previous involvement in investigating and implementing an HRIS system
  • Experience hiring and managing employees outside of the United States (Europe/AsiaPac)
  • Basic understanding of payroll principles, regulations, and tax laws.

The salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 - $175,000, in addition to equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
