This person will report to the Human Resources Director.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Partner with leadership on organizational and people-related strategy to develop programs focusing on retention, engagement, recognition, and talent management; continuously build and nurture these relationships to establish trust and credibility with both senior leadership and employees throughout the organization.
  • Provide day-to-day employee management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Thoroughly understand the organization’s industry, market, and its specific business goals and challenges; take the time to learn the intricacies of the business, including its product, services, and competitive landscape.
  • Use data to inform HR strategies and initiatives; collect and analyze HR metrics to make informed decisions that drive improvements in employee productivity, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Collaborate with the payroll department to address and resolve employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to line management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provide project management expertise through the initiation, management, and driving of strategic projects and initiatives and change management.
  • Partner with the Learning and Development team to develop managers and team training focused on development, culture, and career progression.
  • Proactively administer HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct meetings with respective business units at regularly scheduled cadence.
  • Facilitate discussions when HRBPs find issues, propose solutions, and refine processes.
  • Act as a champion of The CAR Group culture and Norm Reeves Way company-wide.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:


  • 5-7 years of HRBP experience with at least 2 years of experience in resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee relations, worker’s compensation, employee benefits, and HR compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential preferred, but not required.
  • UKG experience is a plus.
