Chief Human Resources Officer with Strong Business Acumen

The HRBP will partner with HR leadership, business leaders and staff to ensure best practices in the areas of talent management process, benefits, compensation, employee relations, compliance and worker’s compensation. The HRBP takes a proactive approach while coaching leadership & staff to find effective HR and business strategies.. This position is in-office.


Responsibilities

·        Act as a consultative thought partner, leveraging data-driven insights to align HR strategies with overall business objectives and tackle complex challenges, establishing innovative paths forward.

·        Collaborate with leaders and executives at multiple levels, providing strategic insights and recommendations.

·        Ensure compliance with I-9 forms and review these for accuracy; responsible for I-9 audit initiatives. Ensure proper training is provided as necessary to all company representatives completing these.

·        Conduct employee relation investigation as directed/necessary. Partner with managers by instructing best practices for documenting and discussing performance with employees.

·        Document employee investigations; share all findings with the appropriate manager to determine the best outcome.

·        Partake in employment terminations as necessary; coach manager on how to deliver termination communication to employee.

·        Serve as consultative partner in launching and facilitating of onboarding and offboarding initiatives, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional employment lifecycle experience.

·        Partner with leadership to revise/update or create job descriptions for all positions. Partner with Talent Acquisition to establish paybands.

·        Serve as back-up and manage employee benefits (day to day functions) including adding and removing employees from benefits. Audit all benefit offerings on ADP and carrier sites.

·        Participate in open enrollment communication, education and set up of systems.

·        Partner with Sr. HR Mgr and VPHR on training and development; discuss strategic initiatives, LMS systems review and set-up.

·        Participate and be knowledgeable of FMLA and leaves of absence process. Discuss cases with HR leadership (Sr. HR Mgr).

·        Partner with HR Specialist and stay informed of all WC cases.

·        Assist with HR projects as assigned including participation in monthly metrics reporting.

·        Perform other job functions or projects as needed.


Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or business administration required.

·        Six to eight years of experience in human resources management (Generalist/HRBP role), in a centralized organization.

·        Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies. Knowledge of federal/state law and regulations including California and New York.

·        PHR/SHRM-CP certification a plus.

·        Ability to travel to different locations as needed (up to 10%).

·        Microsoft Office experience required.

·        Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).

·        Must be a self-starter, a fast learner, work independently, and take initiative.

·        Strong negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a diverse employee population.

·        Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.

·        Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
