Supervise a team of HSE professionals operating throughout the Region.
Partner with the operational leaders to proactively manage the deployment of HSE controls.
Provide strategic HSE leadership, technical expertise, and coaching to the operational team.
Attend pre-job, planning and contractor meetings as required on HSE related matters.
Assist in the region’s dealings with governmental agencies (TRRC, TCEQ, OSHA) in matters pertaining to safety and environmental practices and legislation.
Ensuring region personnel are provided with all necessary safety training and updates on environmental requirements and issues related to production and drilling operations.
Manage/conduct/facilitate incident investigations for all appropriate environmentally related events and issues, which occur on Vital property including contractor incidents.
Identify root causes of incidents and prepare recommendations for corrective actions.
Ensure EHS compliance with all State, Federal, Local, and Vital policies, and regulations.
Provide EHS leadership for all Vital employees and contractors working for Vital.
Conduct and document contractor EHS audits.
Education, Knowledge, And Skills
High School Diploma or GED required.
HSE industry certification required.
Experience supervising/managing professional personnel.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience
Experience formally training on EH&S topics to large groups.
Excellent computer skills and able to effectively work and communicate in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Must have effective verbal and communication skills.
Team player who takes active role and initiative in team responsibilities
Self-motivated, strong ethics and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Bilingual preferred

Salary is commensurate with experience.
Working Conditions
Approximately, half of the work will be performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, and trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines and under all weather conditions. May work in areas where H2S is present. The other half of the work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment.
Physical Demands
Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying 50-to-75-pound objects such as tools, equipment work operations. Work involves standing and walking most of the time but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods sometimes over rough terrain.
