Hospital Services Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Manager of Hospital Services, the Hospital Services Supervisor supervises the promotion of Texas Organ Sharing Alliance’s mission, saving lives through the power of organ donation, by serving as a subject matter expert to department staff regarding the development of a donation infrastructure, compliance with best practices, effective donation awareness/community relations, organ procurement organization visibility and relationship building, policy/agreement review and updates and quality reporting. The Hospital Services Supervisor has two or more years of experience serving in a Hospital Services role and demonstrates extraordinary innovation, leadership, communication, and conflict resolution abilities. This role will assist the Manager with appropriate management tasks and will work closely with the Manager and Director of Hospital Services to promote the development of individual staff while supporting the overall function of the department. The position may require more frequent interregional travel on a routine basis.

WORK SCHEDULE: The Hospital Services Supervisor is a full-time position. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The employee may occasionally have to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Guide department staff in determining action plans for appropriate follow-up with hospitals or critical interactions (action plans for significant concerns should be escalated to the Manager, Director or AOC in a timely manner).
  • Serve as a resource for department staff and a liaison to the senior leadership team.
  • Serve as a mentor for staff and ensure appropriate support is extended during key points in their professional development and as needed.
  • Review timesheets, leave requests, and expense reports using TOSA’s payroll system;
  • Assist the Manager with routine performance and portfolio reviews.
  • Monitor completion of staff projects and assigned tasks (including iTx tasks).
  • Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration and communication on projects and follow-up.
  • Promote cohesive function and relationships within the department.
  • Direct employees in meeting role requirements and competencies.
  • Monitor team productivity and collaborate with the Manager and Director regarding employee performance evaluations, constructive feedback, mentorship, and disciplinary action.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 or more years prior relevant work experience.
  • Proven success in working with various levels of management and c-suite personnel within hospital settings.
  • Strong ability to motivate team members.
  • Detail-oriented and growth mindset, excellent organizational skills, and ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • 4-year degree in marketing, nursing, communications, behavioral or social science, education or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to perform operational planning and focused strategic development to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills; must be able to function well under stressful circumstances due to the nature of the interactions required.
  • Experience with and ability to learn and apply problem-solving tools/methodologies.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability for auto insurance, as some travel is required on a moderate to frequent basis (by personal or company vehicle, and/or commercial aircraft).
  • Physical requirements include ability to lift at least 50lbs.
