Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Healthcare IT Project Manager to oversee and manage various IT projects within our healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both healthcare operations and information technology, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from initiation to completion. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure project goals align with organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate resources, including IT staff, healthcare professionals, vendors, and consultants, to execute project tasks effectively.
  • Monitor project progress, manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs, and ensure adherence to project governance framework.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate project objectives, status updates, and risks to stakeholders, including senior management, clinical staff, and IT teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather project requirements, address concerns, and ensure project outcomes meet user needs.

Risk Management and Quality Assurance:

  • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure project outputs meet quality standards and regulatory requirements in healthcare IT.

Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and select vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor vendor performance, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.

Change Management:

  • Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth adoption of new IT systems or processes within healthcare settings.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to maximize utilization and efficiency of IT solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and risk registers.
  • Prepare and present regular project progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT projects in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of healthcare operations and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Knowledge of healthcare information systems (e.g., EHR/EMR systems, healthcare analytics) is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of healthcare industry trends and emerging technologies.
