About The Role

The Health Scientist (Public Health Genomics - Cancer) will work collaboratively with members of our federal agency client and provide high-quality technical assistance, research and programmatic support related to cancer genomics.

This position is a remote role based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, translate, and disseminate public health cancer genomics work products, messages, and materials.
  • Provide technical assistance to ongoing cancer genomics activities, programs, and research.
  • Perform literature reviews.
  • Plan, organize, develop, manage, administer, and evaluate the impact of ongoing cancer genomics projects and their components.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data for reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Prepare slides, briefing materials, talking points, and presentations for public health presentations and meetings.
  • Plan and organize meetings, webinars, and conference calls with grantees, various agency staff, and national partners.
  • Work with agency staff to develop a dissemination plan to identify, prioritize, and execute findings from ongoing and planned cancer genomics efforts.
  • Support in the review and preparation of cancer genomics success stories and fact sheets for various communications products and resource dissemination points.
  • Develop cancer genomics resources, tools, products, and users guides for grantees.
  • Work collaboratively with research staff, subject matter experts, and other staff.
  • Regularly report status to the designated leadership and subject matter experts.

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

  • 3+ years related work experience in cancer prevention and control, public health, and/or cancer genomics
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to provide technical and research/programmatic support.
  • Experience in planning, developing, translation and dissemination of public health cancer products, message, and materials.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports in Office 365 and facilitating group presentations.
  • Ability to thoroughly complete tasks and present final product to senior leadership.
  • Proficient in performing literature reviews and synthesizing information.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain government clearance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using software tools for data analysis and presentation (e.g., SPSS, SAS, REDcap, and/or Tableau).
  • Quantitative and Qualitative data analytic experience.

Education and Training

  • Master's degree in public health or applicable field of study is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May need to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
