Health Science Admissions Specialist-Supports students from enrollment to graduation through advising students about program and career options in

the Health Sciences division.

The salary range of $19.37 to $29.06 hourly.

Responsibilities:

  • 35% Coordinates the application process for health science programs. Receives, reviews, files, and processes applications, including confirmation of eligibility. Serves on the admissions, retention, and graduation committees as requested.
  • 30% Provides pre-admission advising to students to explain program requirements. Responds to website requests and general inquiries regarding program requirements, admissions procedures, and other general information related to health science programs.
  • 20% Coordinates student notification processes, including acceptance and declination notices, updates admissions database regarding eligibility
  • 10% Assists with group information sessions and Health Sciences website updates for all programs. Participates in recruiting and marketing activities.
  • 5% Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Complies with all state and federal regulations regarding higher education and health science programs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Six months to two years prior experience working in health sciences.
  • Education: (1) Bachelors degree preferred or (2) Associates degree with three or more years of experience in a similar field or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • Other Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate clearly via email and internet requests, ability to manage and update electronic records, and solid customer service skills. Ability to learn institutional software programs and systems.
  • Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, or driving an automobile.
  • Work Environment: An office environment.
