Description

To drive technology innovation in healthcare, Verily is integrating the most advanced cloud engineering capabilities with our research, clinical, and product development expertise. The Head of Developer Platform & Cloud Engineering will be responsible for building and managing the cloud infrastructure, automation, and tooling supporting all Verily engineering and IT teams.

This is a leadership role with Tech-wide impact and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the production infrastructure footprint for Verily on Google Cloud Platform.
• Drive the cloud infrastructure roadmap for production engineering, security, data infrastructure, AI, and developer tools and services, in collaboration with Engineering, Security, and Tech leadership.
• Improve developer and AI/data science productivity through cloud infrastructure investments.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a world-class cloud infrastructure team.
• Ensure achievement of security, privacy, and global regulatory compliance requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 years of progressive leadership experience in public cloud operations, production engineering, and/or site reliability engineering, including Amazon Web Services, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Deep experience working with security, privacy, and legal teams to ensure effective development of controls and systems to achieve compliance requirements.
• Deep experience with software engineering toolchains and automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
• Experience working with regulated medical software products and/or hardware medical devices.
• Experience with global data locality requirements and solutions for cross-border healthcare data management.
• Track record of successful cross-org engagement and leadership to drive productive adoption and utilization of cloud services.
• Track record of supporting high velocity cloud development and architecture evolution by a large technical team.
  
  

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $256,000 - $340,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
