Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Head of Compliance to oversee and manage our organization’s compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The Head of Compliance will play a critical role in developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to legal standards and ethical practices. This position requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and regulatory authorities.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Compliance Program Development:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program that aligns with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
    • Establish policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate compliance risks and promote ethical behavior.
  • Regulatory Oversight and Monitoring:
    • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards that affect the organization’s operations.
    • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to evaluate effectiveness of compliance initiatives.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk through ongoing risk assessments.
    • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure proactive compliance measures are in place.
  • Training and Education:
    • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of compliance policies and procedures.
    • Provide guidance and support to departments on compliance-related issues and inquiries.
  • Internal Investigations and Reporting:
    • Oversee and conduct internal investigations into compliance breaches, misconduct, or allegations of non-compliance.
    • Prepare and submit reports on compliance activities and findings to senior management and regulatory authorities as required.
  • External Relationships and Liaison:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and external stakeholders on compliance matters.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with external advisors and legal counsel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement and Adaptation:
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in compliance.
    • Recommend and implement enhancements to the compliance program based on changing regulatory landscape and organizational needs.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional - CCEP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the organization’s industry (e.g., healthcare, finance, nonprofit).
  • Proven track record in developing and managing compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time position. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or regulatory engagements.
  • The Head of Compliance reports directly to the [appropriate senior executive, e.g., CEO, Chief Operating Officer] and plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organization’s reputation and integrity through effective compliance management.
