Head of Asset Management


Company - US Renewable IPP. Over 2GW of Operating Assets


As the Head of Asset Management, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing the performance, efficiency, and profitability of our client's clean energy assets. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for the strategic oversight, operational management, and financial optimization of our growing portfolio of renewable power and energy storage projects.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Asset Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies aligned with company objectives, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements to maximize returns and mitigate risks.

Operational Excellence: Oversee the operation and maintenance (O&M) activities of utility-scale renewable power and battery storage assets, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations. Coordinate with O&M vendors to execute maintenance plans, resolve technical issues, and optimize asset availability.

Financial Management: Drive financial performance through rigorous analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and optimization of revenue streams, operating expenses, and capital expenditures across the asset lifecycle. Manage financial reporting, cash flow projections, and capital allocation decisions to optimize returns on investment.

Commercial Matters: Lead commercial negotiations, contract management, and regulatory compliance for power purchase agreements (PPAs), off-take agreements, interconnection agreements, and other commercial arrangements. Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, risk mitigation, and value creation through innovative commercial strategies.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks associated with renewable energy and energy storage assets, implementing robust risk management protocols and contingency plans. Monitor market trends, policy developments, and technological advancements to anticipate and address emerging risks and opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including investors, lenders, regulators, off-takers, and community stakeholders, fostering trust, transparency, and collaboration. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Asset Optimization: Identify opportunities for performance enhancement, cost reduction, and revenue generation through asset optimization strategies such as technology upgrades, repowering initiatives, and market participation. Evaluate new business opportunities, acquisitions, and divestitures to optimize portfolio performance and enhance shareholder value.

Reporting and Analytics: Provide timely and accurate reporting on asset performance, financial metrics, and operational KPIs to internal and external stakeholders, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making. Develop and maintain dashboards, analytics tools, and performance benchmarks to track progress against targets and drive continuous improvement.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing asset management team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members to build capabilities and drive organizational success.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in asset management, operations, or finance within the renewable energy industry, with a focus on utility-scale solar, wind, or battery storage projects.
  • Proven track record of success in managing complex renewable energy assets, optimizing financial performance, and driving operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, technologies, regulations, and financing structures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of developing and executing innovative asset management strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Analytical prowess with proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and performance metrics tracking.
