JOB DISCRIPTION
About The Role
The Lab Technician will be responsible for supporting Client on several projects in various stages of development. The Lab Technician must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with little supervision needed to maintain project schedules/deadlines.
Responsibilities
Managing of inventory including but not limited to tracking, shipping, and receiving materials
Building servers, based on prepared documentation
Ability to escalate problems when discovered
Test repair and upgrading computer prototypes (computers, servers, peripherals, programs, and software/firmware)
Working with vendors in the evaluation of new electronic components, as well as troubleshooting the building of new servers
Performing Lab Management responsibilities including but not limited to maintaining and organizing an efficient lab
Requirements
Fundamental understanding of computer architecture and components (CPU, power supply, memory, storage devices, etc.)
Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot the server architecture
Working knowledge of sever rack and blade environment
Ability to diagnose the root cause of computer system failure and isolate the components/failure nodes
Ability to use custom Linux and Windows-based diagnostic programs
Ability to benchmark hardware performance
Understanding of hardware and software interactions; able to apply this understanding to resolve issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at a technical level
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at various levels in the organization
Minimum Qualifications
Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability; uses rigorous logic to solve problems
Ability to completes tasks on time
3+ years of troubleshooting, tech support or relevant experience
Working knowledge of troubleshooting to issues
Rack level experience including cabling and power supplies
Preferred Skills
Associate degree in Electronics, Certificate of Completion of Technical School or equivalent experience in related discipline
Experience within a computer hardware and/or lab environment required
In-depth knowledge of PowerShell Scripting is r - preference
