Private Residence seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Estate Manager to assist with the successful operation and maintenance of their NYC East Hampton and Hudson Valley households. The successful candidate will have experience supervising domestic staff and executing high-end events.


What You Can Expect to Do:

  • Direct the day-to-day operations and general maintenance of 3 residences in the NY area
  • Management of additional household staff (housekeeper, gardeners, handyman, etc).
  • Attend to the needs of principals and guests when they are in residence, to include front of house service, meal preparation as required and general wine knowledge.
  • Manage principals’ personal and social calendars while in residence, working with travel coordinator, personal assistants and follow directives of the lady of the house.
  • Responsible for maintaining household inventory, from flowers and wine to cleaning products and pet needs. Including care and maintenance of extensive art collection, high end furnishings, antiques and fine clothing. Assisting with planning and executing special dinners and events; experience with floral arrangements and high-end event planning.
  • Oversee all repairs, design projects, seasonal landscaping and renovations in conjunction with principals.
  • Assist principals with planning and execution of special events.
  • Direct the care and maintenance of automobiles and boat and drive to/from, airports, etc. as needed.
  • Care and walking of principals’ dog as needed.
  • Facilitate proper closing of home when not in use including protecting art.
  • Report to Family Office and assist with management of household budget. Complete monthly financial reports (petty cash, credit cards, etc).
  • Maintain household operations manual and assist with hiring and training of new staff.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with local vendors and service providers (plant nurseries, restaurants, etc.)


The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive, detail oriented individual who anticipates needs and enjoys excelling at high service standards. This creative self-starter is flexible and likes having a variety of responsibilities with which to multi-task.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in household management.
  • Highly organized individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks, strategically prioritize them, and analyze opportunities to make recommendations on approaches.
  • Self-starter that is comfortable trying new things, quick at learning, and able to proactively identify new opportunities – even if it’s not something you necessarily know how to do (yet).
  • Exceptionally high standards of accountability, flexibility and a “can do” attitude.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; a true team player.
  • Experience in formal and casual table settings and service.
  • Well educated in luxury items such as fine art, antiques and high end clothing.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining an estate property budget.
  • Proven proficiency at overseeing household systems. Demonstrate an understanding of complex physical house systems including “smart home” systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, internet, alarm, a/v equipment etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Valid driving license and clean record.
  • Excellent working knowledge of PC and MAC. Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word. Digital photography editing and printing a plus.
  • Understands that the utmost in confidentiality and discretion is required



Salary 175k-225k + full benefits + generous bonus structure
