Organizes and administers the independent exercise areas of the Health and Fitness Center. Adheres to ACSM guidelines for safe exercise participation. Monitors the exercise floor creating a pleasant and safe area for members. Develops and schedules a diverse and accessible schedule of group exercise classes, youth services, fitness assessments, and personal training programs for all abilities and fitness levels. Maintains fitness equipment and aquatics area to ensure safety. Supervises and evaluates assigned staff, handling all employee concerns, directing work assignments, counseling and disciplining employees when necessary, and completing employee performance appraisals. Manages, coordinates, and directs the day-to-day work activities of assigned staff; trains staff in work methods; interviews and makes hiring recommendations.
Aquatics Coordinator: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred. Minimum Work Experience
Knowledge of health and fitness and at least one year of work experience in wellness, health promotion, health promotion, health club, university and/or community recreation, or hospital fitness preferred.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or American Red Cross CPR certification required
Aquatics Coordinator
Certified Pool Operators Certification or obtain within 3 months of hire
