A combination of field and office related tasks. It is anticipated that approximately 20% of this position will be in the field and 80% in the office.
Assist with the development and completion of environmental reports, work plans, permit applications, and client proposals.
Plan and implement field work including the collection of soil, groundwater, stormwater, and air sampling, remedial action activities, and oversight of contractors and field staff.
Oversight of drilling operations, including geoprobe activities, and the installation of soil borings and monitoring wells.
Preparation of report components, including work plans, data summaries, calculations, figures, tables, etc.
Knowledge of other environmental regulations.
Conduct online research of regulations, state databases, and project specific information.
Communication with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and vendors.
Work independently or as part of a team based on project needs.
Ability to problem solve and adapt to situations on-site.
Qualifications
BS or BA in Geology, Geosciences, Environmental Science or a related field of study.
1-5 years of experience with conducting environmental field work, including initial document preparation and field data collection from soil and groundwater sampling, oversight of field surveys, drilling, and well installation.
Ability to interpret NYSDEC and USEPA environmental regulations.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification desirable.
Capacity to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high degree of accountability, organization, time management, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to correspond both verbally and in writing with client and regulatory officials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Valid driver’s license.
Hourly/Salary is TBD after interview process. Factors such as experience, certifications, education and many other things go into deciding the salary.
