Leonard's Express, a mid-sized transportation company is seeking an experienced Freight Broker to join our Ocoee, Florida office team. The Freight Broker must possess strong negotiation and sales skills and have common knowledge and background within the supply chain & logistics industry.
The Freight Broker position offers a competitive base salary plus monthly incentive. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K w/match, paid vacation, life insurance, and more.
The shift will be Monday - Friday with rotating hours on Saturday which are partial days.
Freight Broker Duties
Manages a current book of business
Negotiates freight rates with carriers
Tracks and monitors the status of shipments to ensure OTD and resolve any issues or delays that may arise
Stays informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting the transportation of freight
Develops and maintains relationships with carriers to facilitate the efficient movement of freight
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the transportation industry as a Freight Broker or a similar function within a trucking company
Current knowledge on all Department of Transportation requirements
Experience in sales and cultivating new business
Willing to work with others in a team-based operation; flexibility, and willingness to help others is a must
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Possessing a book of business is a plus, but NOT required
