  • Part-Time, picking up cases as a Netcare employee with no set schedule. Minimum of 1 case per month!

The Netcare Forensic Center in Columbus, Ohio has part-time openings for forensic and FCCS psychologists. The position involves conducting various types of criminal forensic evaluations (primarily competence to stand trial and sanity), preparation of professional reports, and occasionally serving as an expert witness. There are no clinical treatment obligations or on-call responsibilities. The position includes a competitive hourly rate and the ability to choose your own cases.

The Netcare Forensic Center serves an 11 county region in the state of Ohio, performing criminal forensic evaluations at the Common Pleas, Municipal, and Juvenile Court levels. We complete approximately 700 such evaluations per year. We have 2 board certified ABPPs among our salaried staff, 2 more who are independent contractors, and several more at various stages in the board certification process. The work environment is flexible and collegial.

Applicants must have a doctorate in clinical or forensic psychology, successfully completed an internship, and be licensed or license-eligible in Ohio. Applicants should also have excellent technical writing skills; prior training in forensic psychology is preferred but not required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Performs court-ordered psychological assessments of individuals referred by the criminal and civil court systems, including probation and parole agencies.
  • Prepares comprehensive, professional reports to referral sources within statutory timeframes.
  • Maintains timely and complete documentation of services and activities that meet the standards of Netcare and accrediting agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the theories and principles of clinical and forensic psychology, clinical assessment, and diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of psychological testing principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Ability to write comprehensive and integrative reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others.
  • Exhibits flexibility and ability to manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in alternate locations as assigned.
  • Knowledge of criminal and civil justice system and pertinent Ohio revised code and ODMH statutes regarding the delivery of forensic services.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or training in substance abuse disorder assessment and/or treatment

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a licensed doctoral-level psychologist in the state of Ohio.Prior forensic experience preferred. Demonstrated experience and/or training in substance abuse disorder assessment and/or treatment.
