Football Video Assistant

Overview: The Washington Commanders are seeking a dedicated and skilled Video Assistant to join our team. This role is essential for recording and analyzing both practice and game footage, creating team hype videos, and supporting video-related needs of the coaching staff. The ideal candidate will be organized, tech-savvy, and possess a strong understanding of video equipment and software, with preferred experience in DVSport software, 8K solutions mastRcam and post-production with Adobe Premiere.

Filming

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Film the primary endzone angle for all practice days.
  • Film the secondary endzone angle for all game days.

Equipment Management

  • Lead the setup and breakdown process of 8k mastRcams each practice day.
  • Assign roles to interns in these processes, teaching them proper use of equipment.
  • Manually move mastRcams via tow hitch on gator cart.
  • Maintain and monitor the condition of mastRcams, contacting 8k solutions when potential issues arise.
  • Maintain inventory of all practice and gameday equipment.
  • Ensure all batteries are charged, SD cards are packed and formatted, and gameday bags have all necessary equipment.

Training And Collaboration

  • Train interns on different shooting techniques and video processes.
  • Collaborate with coaches on video-related projects, troubleshooting video-related questions and concerns.

DVSport Proficiency

  • Develop a strong understanding of key DVSport functions.
  • Importing process, making cutups, setting up DVSport remotes, pushing video to DVSport 360, mapping slides and video, etc.
  • This role would be the lead for getting NFL/NCAA footage up to 360 for the scouts.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of PFF, DVSport, and DVSport 360 profiles for all staff members with video access.

Post-Production

  • Preferred experience with Adobe Premiere for video editing and post-production tasks.
  • Edit and produce high-quality video content for various team needs.

Facility Management

  • Prepare and maintain meeting rooms in team facilities (both in-house and on the road), ensuring all equipment works properly and the space is set up cleanly and properly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DVSport software.
  • Post-production experience with Adobe Premiere.
  • Experience with video recording and editing, preferably in a sports environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to lead and train interns.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
