Located on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, the Wind River Food Sovereignty Project (WRFSP), a project of the Center for Popular Research, aims to combat food insecurity and advocate for food justice through food production, distribution, and education efforts. WRFSP envisions a thriving, vibrant, and sustainable food system designed by members of the Wind River Reservation. It is the goal of WRFSP to increase the number of local food producers, to create successful new market channels for local producers, and to provide food-based educational programs and career opportunities for Native youth.

Member Duties : A VISTA member at Wind River Food Sovereignty Project (WRFSP) will design educational materials and workshops on a variety of food related topics, including seed starting, food safety, and beginning gardening. The VISTA member will design materials for outreach and promotion, connect WRFSP with community partners, recruit and manage volunteers, and create systems for tracking volunteers, farmers market sales, and farmers market attendance.
