To support the growth of our business, we are seeking a Fleet Manager with a strong background to join our team. The Fleet Manager is responsible for overall fleet performance, configuration, and operational reliability for a fleet of 15+ vehicles and equipment. The Fleet Manager interfaces across business lines, quantifying and tracking fleet issues, additions, disposals, and modifications. The Fleet Manager will work closely with accounting and operations to optimize the fleet’s efficiency, reduce costs, and improve production.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Guide and promote fleet safety and compliance by developing standards, policies procedures, and programs to eliminate, prevent or control accidents, hazardous conditions or behaviors and foster a culture of compliance and safe operation.
Collaborate with senior management, location managers, supervisors, and employees to achieve fleet compliance.
Ensure fleet program is fully complying with US DOT, State and local laws and regulations.
Manage data collection for operational and financial reporting.
Manage data collection for compliance, mileage, and tax fillings, as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Develop strategies to improve efficiencies and work with production teams to ensure successful deployment of strategies.
Positively impact fleet accident and injury rates through cooperative programs and training
Deciding whether to lease or buy vehicles.
Lead and retain a designated fleet of drivers.
Establish a good working relationship with each driver.
Work with planning personnel to dispatches drivers.
Manage driver availability to maximize the productivity of their fleet.
Perform driver reviews to measure and record performance.
Manage driver performance and take proper disciplinary steps if necessary.
Know, support, and enforce company policies.
Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
Manage the shop employees and verify they are following regulations.
