Position Summary
Finishing is the part of the production process that is critical to the cosmetic qualities of the boat. The finisher inspects each fiberglass part for defects in the gelcoat surface and composite layers. The finishers will then repair surface defects in gel coat including scratches, void, & surface distortion.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
Wear required PPE that may include gloves, safety glasses, aprons and chemical resistant suits, and safety shoes
May work on knees, seated, laying down, standing up
Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
Ability to climb, stoop, kneel reach and lift up to 50 lbs
Flexibility to work overtime if needed
No allergies to fiberglass or chemicals used in this process
Desired Skills
Must be able to work with repair tools including sanders, buffers and spray equipment
Must be able to work with a team to accomplish departmental goals
Must follow safety standards and procedures including chemical handling and PPE
Must be dependable and punctual
Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions
Previous experience with gelcoat repairs preferred. Autobody or painting translate well
Must be able to adhere to quality and efficiency standards
