Gardian is a leading manufacturer of patented cargo securement technologies used in over the road, rail and ocean shipping. Gardian has a long history of market leading innovations in this space and is growing rapidly with its two primary products, Ty-Gard and Shock-Gard.

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt


General Job Description

As a key business partner to the CFO, the Financial Analyst will

play an integral role in supporting financial planning, analysis and special financial studies for Gardian as well as assisting with general accounting functions. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supervising and directing additional analysts as needed and will interact frequently with executive management on a variety of initiatives. They will play a critical role in enabling real-time analysis of operations, financial results and the improvement of decisions made utilizing current and accurate information.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare detailed annual financial budget and monthly financial forecasts
  • Assist in preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial analysis schedules of actual versus budget variances
  • Create financial models for prospective customer contracts, M&A transactions, new lines of business and locations and modification of banking arrangements
  • Develop ad hoc reports and special studies as directed by the Executive Team
  • Design key performance metrics monitoring programs and reports to appropriate departments utilizing the ERP system or Excel
  • Assist the sales team in generating potential targets through examination of publicly available and purchased datasets
  • Work with operations and sales team to assist in predicting demand for use in production schedules


Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
  • Professional certifications a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of GAAP accounting.
  • Experience in a job costing or activity-based costing environment a plus
  • Demonstrated bias for action.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is rapidly changing, where processes and procedures are in development.
  • Intellectual curiosity with a willingness to learn and develop new skills and processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems, Microsoft Business Central a plus
  • Willingness to learn all facets of the business including operations, sales, finance, HR, etc.
  • Awareness and reliability of timelines for the timely and accurate reporting of financial performance.
  • Strong analytical ability with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Highest degree of integrity and character who takes ownership of responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret business and technical documents.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Strong change management skill


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Periods of standing/walking/sitting.

Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

Occasional loud noise

Occasional varying environmental temperature changes
