Financial Aid System Manager

Wilson College is currently accepting applications for the position of Financial Aid System Manager (FASM). Reporting to the Director of Student Financial Aid & Services, the Financial Aid System Manager will provide management of financial aid technology systems, data integration processes, reporting, and day-to-day support of office operations related to the administration of various technologies.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the functional area lead and liaison to Information Technology related to financial aid and communication modules in Ellucian Colleague.
  • Collaborate with staff in other functional areas/offices to ensure effective data integration and system processing.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual set-up and testing of the Colleague financial aid module.
  • Identifying and implementing new system features in collaboration with Information Technology, Ellucian, and other support providers.
  • Responsible for creating, updating, and managing forms, automated electronic communications (Communications Management), and text messaging (Signal Vine).
  • Collaborate with Slate CRM manager regarding Colleague/Slate data integrations.
  • Provide end user training regarding system functionality and changes.
  • Manage financial aid and student financial services content on the university's website in coordination with Marketing & Communications division.
  • Participate in relevant committee meetings.
  • Monitor all federal policies impacting Title IV programs and student account receivables
  • Leverage technology to assist in the development of internal compliance testing standards for the department.
  • Provide front-office assistance during high volume periods.
  • Other duties as required by Director

  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs (Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and knowledge of Excel preferred)

Position Type And Expected Hours Of Work

  • Full-time, 12-month position
  • Variable hours dependent on the needs of the department
  • Some work during evenings and weekends will be required.

Travel

  • Limited local travel as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in business, information technology or related field preferred and/or an equivalent combination of education and/or technology experience.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with financial aid or other financial technology systems.
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, and/or other database applications.
  • Knowledge of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and/or other student financial aid process preferred.

Preference Given To Candidates With

  • Knowledge and experience with Ellucian Colleague or Banner systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with financial aid regulations.
