Reporting to the Field Service Manager Environment & Infrastructure, as a field geophysicist you will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):
Planning and performing field deployments utilizing Silixa’s Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS), and Distributed Strain Sensing (DSS) platforms.
Execution of geophysical survey offerings and software, including data acquisition, geophysical processing, and analysis techniques.
Contribution to the ongoing development of Silixa products offered in the market areas of alternative energy solutions (e.g., carbon, capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) and geothermal energy) and infrastructure.
Project management in the market areas described in III, ensuring project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.
Advising on data processing and instrument configuration.
Adhering to Company’s and clients’ HSE requirements and local legislation at all times and actively promoting safe work practices.
Provide assistance and support as necessary to enable Silixa to meet its project commitments.
Qualification/Experience:
Preferred BSc (or equivalent) in geophysics with competency in seismology or seismic applications
Experience using custom software to achieve scientific, data management and visualization goals. (C, Fortran, Python, MATLAB, etc.)
Understanding of signal processing techniques (applied to time series, image processing, seismic datasets)
Demonstrable problem solving and analysis ability (examples and/or portfolio encouraged!)
Fluent in English
Have strong written and spoken communications skills
Creation of, and collaboration on, technical reports and papers
Commitment to travel to client sites
Work with colleagues across all business functions both internally and with clients (commercial, operations, support, R&D)
Useful to have:
Fluency with core operating system principles: networking, filesystems, shell scripting
Experience in industrial applications of seismology/geophysics
Experience in fiber optic splicing
