Our customer provides telecom construction services, and we are looking for a Fiber Splicer to join our team. Fiber Splicers will be responsible for performing tasks associated with aerial and underground construction, splicing of fiber optic cable and communication systems for outside plant fiber networks. Primary responsibilities include ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires, read, create, and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and take splicing field notes.

Primary responsibilities include ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires, read, create, and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and take splicing field notes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret prints, work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of tasks
- Repair or splice in new line as needed to complete the testing and certification of the project.
- Install all passive and active devices, enclosures, and term panels.
- Test fiber optic lines for balanced signal between points-continuity.
- Pull fiber optic through existing duct package, pull cable through conduit either manually, blowing, or mechanically, and splice and activate underground and aerial lines.
- Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to reduce capacity.
- Utilize light meters, OTDRs and power meters accurately.
- Learn how to safely utilize bucket trucks or climb utility poles to place cables on poles per system design.
- Close a project by completing production sheets, verifying proper levels after activation, and adjusting and troubleshooting, as necessary.
- Ensure that all work considers the safety of the customer, public and compliance with all governmental orders.
- Take splicing field notes and maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s).
- Familiarization with Fujikura splicing tools and materials is a plus.
- Perform testing utilizing OTDRs, Power Meter/Light Sources, and VFLs. Record and document testing per customer specifications.
- Bond and ground fibers according to client specifications.
- Maybe required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.
- 1+ years of experience as a fiber splicer in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.
- Thorough understanding of widely used construction practices for fiber cable, including familiarity with building splicing closures.
- Proficient knowledge of fiber color codes for single-mode and multimode fibers in outside plant fiber optic networks.
- Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to new methods and technologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with excellent communication skills.
- Capability to carry and utilize equipment such as 24-foot ladders, fall protection gear, and hand tools.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Work 5 days per week in an all-weather environment and be willing to travel up to 35% of the time as required.
- Clear driving record + valid driver's license
- Production based position based on total fiber spliced and closures
- All applicants must follow safety guidelines and wear personal protective.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Salary range : $52,000 and up, DOE
- Medical, Dental, Vision Coverage, Supplemental Insurance through Aflac, & 401K plan
