In 2022, Family Support Network (FSN) joined Intermountain. FSN is a family services nonprofit located in Billings, Montana. FSN offers programs promoting the development of healthy parent-child interactions to interrupt the multi-generational cycle of abuse, neglect, hopelessness, poverty, and drug abuse.

Family Support Network is a member of the National Supervised Visitation Network, the National Federation of Families, the Behavioral Health Alliance of Montana, and the Montana Nonprofit Association.

The Impact You Will Make

The Family Support Specialist is responsible for providing support to both the foster and biological parents, supervised visitation, family assessment and support, social activities, emotional and physical support to children, and evaluative support to the ongoing caseworker.

Assist in strengthening the parent-child relationship through improving parenting skills and meeting the support needs of parents.

Work with the FSN Clinical Counselor in supporting youth and families at FSN.

Role

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Associates (two-year) degree in Human Services from an accredited institution or 2-3 years experience providing direct services to families.
  • A family member or caregiver of a child with mental health and/or behavior challenges is desired, but not required.
  • Must have a current Montana Driver’s License and Proof of Vehicle Insurance.
  • Knowledge of community services, ages, and stages of development of children, cultural differences, and issues impacting low-income families.
  • Demonstrate empathy, good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
