What You'll Do

The Extended Services Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of caseworkers providing supplemental services for refugees who are receiving and have completed the initial resettlement program and for compliance with requirements in programs as funded. This work includes representing the agency and its programs with local partners, identifying programmatic requirements, and ensuring staff perform work within funding parameters. This position oversees all operations of the Extended Services team including administrative and client financial management, service delivery, staffing, training, and compliance.

The manager will work with their leadership team to improve collaboration between JFSWNY programs and efficient, effective service delivery. They will also work with agency leadership and staff to influence the organizational change needed to support program outcomes in alignment with the agency's strategic plan. This includes goals related to increased cultural responsiveness, humility, and preparedness to meet the changing needs of Western New York's diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Extended Services team, providing daily support in service delivery.
  • Maintain partnerships with key stakeholders including Erie County Department of Social Services, Social Security Administration, Buffalo Public Schools, healthcare providers, HIAS, NYS BRS, NYS Department of Health, and others relevant to the team's work.
  • Monitoring files and maintaining policies, procedures, and protocols for Extended Services program.
  • Update, streamline, and maintain a system for financial tracking, grant reporting, and quality improvement for programs.
  • Submit reports to funders as required by contract.
  • Report on program development, outcomes, and needs to agency leadership.
  • Attend departmental, partner, and agency meetings as required.
  • Recruit, train, and support staff, interns, paraprofessionals, and other volunteers as needed.

This position requires travel between sites and therefore, you must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and liability insurance in the amount of $100/$300K. Also, if hired, you must produce evidence of having received the Covid-19 vaccination.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field; combination of education and experience in human services will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2-3 years of case management experience in the human services or refugee services field.
  • Experience working with program budgets.
  • Prior supervisory experience or evidence of leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of the local service provider network, particularly related to refugee services, education, and/or mental health services.
  • Experience with programs development and managing program budgets at non-profit agencies.
  • Exhibited ability to effectively work within an inclusive and culturally and linguistically diverse environment.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to program and grant guidelines.
  • Strong internet research and computer skills, especially with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based health information systems.

The above pay range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, background, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
