Executive Director

The Fayetteville State University Development Corporation (FSUDC) is a private non-profit entity whose primary purpose is to advance Fayetteville State University's mission of teaching, scholarly and creative research, and effective community engagement and public service by promoting and engaging in positive economic development within the community surrounding Fayetteville State University. FSUDC and the Endowment Fund Board of Trustees of Fayetteville State University jointly own Bronco Midtown, a retail and business center located across from the Fayetteville State University campus.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is not employed by the State of North Carolina or Fayetteville State University. Reporting to the FSUDC Board of Directors (Board), the Executive Director will be a strategic and operational leader with broad decision-making authority over the FSUDC's day-to-day operations. The primary duties/responsibilities are as follows:


Strategic Leadership and Board Support

The Executive Director shall be responsible for the developing and implementing FSUDC's strategic plan in close collaboration with the Board, provide general administrative support to the Board, organize Board meetings, and prepare necessary documentation to ensure effective Board decision-making.


Day-to-Day Operations and Project Management

The Executive Director shall oversee the day-to-day operations of FSUDC to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively, manage major projects from conception through completion while ensuring the alignment with strategic goals.


Financial Oversight and Budget Management

The Executive Director shall oversee FSUDC's finances, including budgeting,

forecasting and reporting while ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.


Regulatory Compliance

The Executive Director shall be responsible for ensuring Board compliance with UNC Board of Governors and Fayetteville State University policies and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.


Property Management

The Executive Director shall serve as the property manager for properties owned by FSUDC, to include overseeing the operational success of Bronco

Midtown, tenant satisfaction and financial performance, budgets and timelines.



Stakeholder Engagement

To promote FSUDC's mission and enhance its community impact, the Executive Director shall foster strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including Fayetteville State University's leadership, community officials and partners. lf requested by the Board, the Executive Director shall represent FSUDC at public events.


Other Duties

The Executive Director shall perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Board or its chair.


QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum - Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience or master’s degrees with 3 or more years of relevant experience in Business Administration, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, Real Estate or a related field.


Preferred

Leadership experience in non-profit, higher education, or development sectors, with a proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, or policy development.

Exceptional leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate adverse team and foster an environment of achievement and collaboration.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with various stakeholders and representing FSUDC in a variety of forums.
