Event Planner
*** This is a hybrid, contract role onsite 3 days a week in the San Francisco office. ***
Simultaneously manage & execute multiple events of varying sizes at any one time. Excellent project management/coordinating skills are essential as is the ability to define, conceptualize and execute a successful event. Manage and track event marketing budget to promote company products and services to the target audience with a strong focus on ROI. Develop solid relationships with top industry organizations to secure sponsorships and speaking engagements to maximize company exposure, promote AOL’s products and services, and drive bottom-line results. Act as consultant and liaison to Marketing and Sales divisions on event strategy, budget, and execution for revenue-driving events. Post-event tracking and ROI analysis to help measure the company’s marketing initiatives and to improve future performance
The Event planner will create and execute client event activities from concept through execution and evaluation. The planner will play a key role in the event strategy for the market bringing creative ideas, suggested venues and proposed content to the market with considerable thought to strategic execution. The job demands interaction with colleagues on the global events team and the larger marketing group, bankers and product partners, and senior management so that we can ensure a consistent and distinctive experience for clients which underscores our business strategies. High pressured position demands strong communication skills, accuracy, long hours and travel.
This is a temporary, full-time position from September 3, 2024 – February 28, 2025.
Event Planning responsibilities include:
• Understanding business objectives and developing an event strategy that supports business goals
• Creating high-touch events consistent with brand standards
• Event management from start to finish including maintaining event calendar and budgets, negotiation with vendors, invoice processing and production of event materials
• Strong emphasis on data management, including RSVP tracking pre and post event and ROI analysis
• Thinking strategically with the ability to problem solve and offer creative solutions
• Well versed in local area venues and ability to keep a finger on the pulse of what is new
• Liaising with other lines of business, in order to leverage and consolidate ideas, shared resources and cross sell event opportunities
• Participate in weekly regional team meetings and lead budget calls, and multiple banker meetings providing event updates
• Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Ability to liaise with senior leadership
• Ability to be work late hours and travel
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Word & PowerPoint
• A minimum of 4 years prior experience in event management related activities
• Prior experience in financial services a plus
